A Gift for You: Rickman & Depp
December 23, 2007 — pooks
Their duet from Sweeney Todd. Has anybody seen it? I’ve never seen the musical and don’t know the story, but oh my, they sound so luscious together.
Oh, audio only.
Please, tell me what you think of the musical if you’ve seen it, and the movie if you’ve seen it, and both if you’ve seen both.
I’m all ears.

Rickman and Depp. Together. At the same time.
THANK YOU!

Friends who have seen it rave. RAVE.
And remind me not to take the kiddies.
Or squeamish spouses.

LOL!
Or squeamish spouses.
I’m the squeamish spouse.
But. Depp. Rickman.
I can close my eyes.

I just saw the movie, had to.
How could I resist Depp and sharp objects and Old London?
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. It is visually stunning and the music is fabtabulous.

I’m looking forward to it — never saw the musical, so this is my chance.
Still, studio seems to be HIDING the fact that it’s a musical. What do they know that we don’t? That people just don’t likee the musicales lik’n they usetado?
Still. I’m there. Then it’s off for a haircut and a meatpie.

Kitty–that settles it. I’m going, if not this week, next week. I’ll have to see if Resident Storm Chaser wants to go or not.
Chris — meatpie? I want a meatpie. ::whimper::
As for musicals, Andrew Marlowe (Air Force One, etc.) says he studied musicals to learn how to plot action movies.

Saw the musical version many moons ago with Angela Lansbury in San Francisco. That was a fabulous show, but I can’t remember the name of the male lead. I can tell you, though, that his voice was more operatic than Johnny’s.
Still, Johnny does a serviceable job in this excerpt and he’s not too hard on the eyes either!

Oh, pooks, do you remember my friend, the Wiblewoman, who gave me my first laptop (well, sold it to me so cheap, only for the cost of the software on it)? She grew up with Alan Rickman, and gave me a lovely desktop of him. And now he is such a star! (Wasn’t then, only had been in a few things, and maybe the first (?) of the Bruce Willis things.) He is quite the hunk, isn’t he? And the Depp man has really grown on me, too. Thanks for this clip. I will definitely see it at some point.
