How tall is Daniel Radcliffe?
His entry in the IMDB says he’s 5′6″ but it’s two years old.
However, he clearly is not a tall guy at 18.
How tall is Rupert Grint?

I’m wondering how they made Harry seem the tallest on the front row there, unless he really is tallest. If so, it appears they did a remarkable job of hiring short kids with the exception of the Weasley twins, Neville, Dean, and who is on the far left, anyway?
Come on, fans. Fill me in! This is kind of driving me nuts for some reason.

But what a great story, when a fan decides to audition and gets the role and nails it, and even greater when she comes up with stuff like this!
I ship all the normal ones – Ginny/Harry, Ron/Hermione, blah blah blah. But I do have a strange one, which is Luna/Dumbledore. I think they would be quite perfect. They’re both so detached, so otherworldly and so comfortable with themselves and they have this uncommon fearlessness of death. They also both have quirky hobbies and deep minds and I can see them getting along a storm. I don’t see this ship sailing, of course. It’s just one which I think could have had potential, aided along by a time-turner.
Now that is greatness.

Probably the same way Cruise make sure he and his taller co-stars are the same height. Heh.

Well, they didn’t know when they hired everybody that he wasn’t going to be tall, did they? Of course they knew they would be filming for years, so maybe they looked for petite kids to begin with?
Photoshop. Duh, I didn’t think of that. I just thought they lined them all up, arranged them and said, “Slouch for the camera.”

Eh, most of the people in that row are girls. They’re probably all around 5′4 and wouldn’t “have to slouch” too much.

I guess I should be more aware that most girls aren’t my height (5′8″) but I usually don’t notice that unless somebody is really short. Good point. (But still, is it really that common that all the girls would be 5′4″ or under?)

The twins are about 6′3″ and Dan is I want to say about 5′6″ possibly as much as 5′8″, but not much over that. and there are many ways to make people seem taller or shorter in photographs by putting one person or group of people on a pedestal. if you look at that particular picture, you cannot clearly see the feet of the people in the back row. it’s possible the floor where they were standing is sunk a bit to give the impression everyone else is closer to their heights.

Judging from that photo, it looks like they made Daniel look taller at least in part by the simple expedient of putting him slightly in front of the others.

Dan joked that he’s going to get the filmmakers to dig a trench for everyone else to stand in if he carries on not growing! He’s got a bit of a complex about it. His parents are both short.
But Harry’s supposed to be short for his age so it’s fine.
I think Rupert’s slightly taller but not much. Dan’s still (only just) slightly taller than Emma. One or two of the front row girls (including Emma) are slouching a bit. And they’ve tucked Neville and Dean away. The most noticeable scene in the film is when Neville and Harry are side by side next to the mirror in the room of requirement. Neville’s a good head and shoulders taller!
Far left is probably meant to be Zacharias Smith or maybe Michael Corner.

They’ve done much to put the focus on Dan. In the centre, slightly out in front, open jacket so his white shirt contrasts with everyone’s else’s primary black. And it looks like he has an additional light.

Emma is only about a half inch shorter than Daniel he is about 5′5.5 and she is between 5′4.5 and 5′5. Rupert is 5′8 though so he is somewhat taller than the other two. But they did put Daniel in front to make him look taller and give him the attention.

i stood right in front of him when he signed my equus playbill a few nights ago. there is NO way he is above 5′4 seeing as i’m 5′5 and i had to look down a bit to see eye to eye. he must be 5′3-5′4. he’s very very petite. he was so very nice though! he was extremely kind to all the fans : )
