Imagine my astonishment when I figured out people were coming here to read this because Unk wrote this. (And while we’re on the subject, who is this masked man, the unknown screenwriter, anyway?)
But it reminded me of the idea of challenges, and then I read One Slack Martian’s entry on Blake Snyder’s recommendations on final images and figured, what the hey.
It’s 2007; it’s time for something new.
So here is my challenge.
Post the final image from your favorite script that you’ve written.
No setup, no explanation.
No dialogue.
Just the image.
I’ll go first.
Wouldja get a load o’ that? Page 109, and they’re finally going to kiss–
And it’s a humdinger, A-#1 hell of a kiss, the kiss to end all kisses, an air-sizzling, bodice-ripping, romance novel kiss–
Well.
You get the picture.
FADE.
So, pick up the challenge, and come back here and post a link in comments!

This is the final image from the rom-com I am trying to get rewritten. There’s a lot that needs work, but I love the final moment:
-=-=-=-=-
Nelson and Karen smile, then lean in to kiss. Nelson coughs,
fishes a mint leaf from his mouth. He looks annoyed.
KAREN
It’s never easy with you, is it?
He shrugs and smiles. This time their kiss works just fine.

I like that.
(You cheated, though. I said no dialogue!)

GORDON’S POV
Sandra lifts the saber above her head with two hands and
brings it down on his head.
Dark red blood splatters out and we…
FADE TO RED
